Do you have a button collection?
I will admit that I have a weakness for buttons. My mother used to have a cookie tin full of buttons. Any loose button would be thrown in the tin. If you needed a special button for a project, the tin was the first place to look. It was a fun task to find just the right button to use.
As I started my adult life, I seemed to do something similar but with jars. A jar of buttons was just so pretty with all the different colors, shapes, and sizes. I even set a small jar of buttons on my office desk. Ultimately when salesmen would stop into my office, they would ask about the buttons. I would casually respond that collected buttons from salespeople. That seemed to hurry the meeting or visit along!
A friend of mine asked me to lunch one day. Silly me. I didn’t realize I would be put to work to earn my lunch. He was sorting through a few things of his late wife. He hit upon two of my weaknesses: cookbooks and buttons.

I loaded up the buttons into a cardboard box to take to a young gal that is very creative. I am excited to see the artwork she will create with these random buttons. Oh all the amazing things she might create with these gems! She might even inspire me to do a few crafts during these cold winter days.
Looking forward to hearing from all of you with button craft ideas.
