Nature’s Peace: Observing Winter Wildlife in the Snow

Nature’s Peace: Observing Winter Wildlife in the Snow

Antoinette van Kleef is noted as saying, “When snow falls, nature listens”.

The Midwest was hit with storms this week. Icy roads, wind, and snow created quite the winter mix. The wildlife were in a rush while preparing for the snow. Pheasants and other birds were foraging for food and several were up by the roads.

Now that we have a blanket of snow, all is quiet. The air is crisp and clean. The ground glistens with a new sparkle. The rabbits and deer leave their mark upon the snow with their hushed footsteps. There is a gentle peace.
